Gender: Male
Sexuality*: Pansexual
- Note that all sexualities are fluid or basically pansexual, due to ness's own sexual mindset. All characters are at base pansexual; they could go for anyone based on personality over gender. Some of them may lean, and have a gender preference. Some may be more bisexual. Bigenders, transgenders, and other genders may not be an issue on pern, so that aspect may not be an issue. Point: Personality over sexuality, which is why they will be listed as Pansexual with a potential lean.
Looks
5'6", Teche doesn't tower over much of anybody. His skin is a light tan, though he spends very little time catching direct sunlight. It covers a fairly compact build, without much of the way of muscle at all; the boy does basic exercises, and lifts and carries kitchen supplies, but other then that not much in teh way of muscle-generating activities. His features are soft and warm, with bright hazel eyes and dark hair he keeps messily cut down to his chin. That hair is usually worn back in a ponytail, and occasionally has smatterings of white dust- flour, it gets everywhere.
Personality
Teche's primary objective in life is to have a good time. Eat, drink, and be merry. So far, he's doing a pretty good job at that.
Relatively social, Teche likes the company of other people. He's a fairly empathetic soul, and can usually understand where people are coming from. This is unintentional— he's not always sympathetic. If he doesn't agree, or doesn't approve of something, he might not be nice about it, and if something really crosses him, he can actually be quite nasty. He's open for debates, however— it's something he loves above everything, because it gives people a chance to prove themselves and their viewpoints. He'll avoid people he doesn't like/doesn't agree with (they're frequently the same people) like the plague, and be pretty snooty about it, too.
When he's a friend, though, he's a sweetheart. He likes people, he likes driving people to go out and have a good time. He can't really get behind moping— it's just so depressing. but he's totally up for distractions, and plenty of them, so if you get all down in the dumps, then fine. He'll drag you out to the local bar or the lower caverns if everything else isn't available, pour you some wine, and get down to it. Maybe they can harness the harpers for something, and create a little shindig.
There's certainly something about him that's bright. Perhaps it's the twinkle in his eyes, or the constant amused expression he wears— his eyebrow seems permanently quirked upwards, and when he gets angry, it still is— when he gets angry, he turns on the sarcasm filters, and that amused look turns openly scornful. His responses are usually fairly bright, too.
This boy has a sharp wit, and he likes getting into battles with it. He's very good at cutting people with his tongue, and IF he gets angry, he can be downright malicious and will play dirty. He might regret it later, but it will still happen. He'll twist personal information he's learned abotu someone around on them in arguments, and other such things, if it gets that far, but at that point, his wit's no longer being employed, usually. Teche enjoys playing things like chess.
Similarly, he's a very sarcastic individual. About everything. If you're his friend, you can probably deal with sarcasm, because if he tunes it down for friends, he does so only slightly. EVERYTHING is subject to his sarcastic commentary, which is technically a form of mockery. I say technically because he doesn't mean it to be offensive, usually— for the most part, his comments are good-natured. When they aren't, you'll know.
Teche is at once very generous and very possessive. He's fine with sharing, sometimes, and if he has something that's communal, he will openly share. Things like wine, or food. Those things, he loves to pass around. As a kid, he would occasionally share his toys with his friends, and even now that aspect remains; you can borrow his belongings if you like, but you need to give them back. Similarly, he'll only share if HE'S the one sharing, or if he asked nicely— his stuff is still HIS, and it makes the final decisions as to what happens to it. This is where the possessive comes in; if he feels like he's being compelled to share something, then he doesn't want to and he won't. He'll be possessive over certain objects, too.
Teche has always really liked food, and has had an interest in preparing it; as a weyrbrat, these were his favorite chores. Since he's shown prominent talent, he's now pursuing it more seriously, working closely with the weyr's cooks to be trained. He genuinely enjoys cooking- it's thrilling to him— and he also likes feeding people. It's got a great deal to do with pride, which he has a LOT of- if people enjoy what HE made, then he did a good job and can be proud of it. And he wants to know; if it's his dish being served, he'll be out actively looking for reactions, and making it clear that HE made that, thank you very much.
History
Teche was a weyrbrat at the old Ista weyr; your pretty typical flight-baby weyrbrat. His early childhood wasn't particularly out of the ordinary, considering it started in the weyr; he was fostered to the lower caverns and grew up in the close company of several peers his age. He was incredibly close to his two half-sisters, one of whom was 2 years older then him and the other of whom was 10 years younger then him, who also grew up in the weyr. Feeling no urge to branch out elsewhere, when the age came where most people start choosing their crafts or their paths in life, Teche walked right into the kitchens, where he had been most comfortable doing chores, with every intention of staying there most of his life. He did entertain standing for a dragon, as well, and when he was 15, he asked to stand as a candidate and was given permission for the next clutch.
His attempt to stand was successful, and he impressed Brown Dagoth. An unlikely pair if there ever was one, but he doesn't seem terribly put off by his dragon. His older half-sister, Loche, impressed a green in the same hatching.
Things progressed fairly normally, until, of course, the thread began to fall out of order. The holds broke off into estates and, unable to support themselves, the weyrs had to merge to form Kaumi. Dagoth seems to have taken this as a person affront to his pride, and hasn't had as easy of a time settling in.

Dragon
Dagoth
Brown M Dragon
This brown is a startling one indeed! He is overly a dark chocolate brown with a swirling patern of a caramelish light brown. He has a burly appearance but nicely proportionate with the fact that it can be seen that he will be at the larger end of the size scale for him. And his wings look to be way too large for him, but once he's reached his full size, he will have wings that will fit him perfectly. His tail, though, is a few inches short for his size.
Firelizards
Iskierka
Green F Firelizard
For all that Isk probably thinks she's a queen, she's really not: just a green, and a small one at that. Her build is very much average, and her color is a medium mossy sort of green, darkening along her wings, face and legs to form gradiated point markings.
