Consise/Basics
Name: Scylla
Nickname: Scyl
Position: Pinkrider
Past Ranks: Weyrbrat, Candidate, Weyrling
Gender: Female
Sexuality*: Pansexual, leans towards women
- Note that all sexualities are fluid or basically pansexual, due to ness's own sexual mindset. All characters are at base pansexual; they could go for anyone based on personality over gender. Some of them may lean, and have a gender preference. Some may be more bisexual. Bigenders, transgenders, and other genders may not be an issue on pern, so that aspect may not be an issue. Point: Personality over sexuality, which is why they will be listed as Pansexual with a potential lean.
Looks
Scylla is a big girl. She's about 6' tall, and her statue is muscled and large-framed: she's imposing without trying. Her face is square, set in hard lines which are not softened by the severe expressions she tends to wear. Her build is muscular, and it's not elegant lithe muscle either: she's no bodybuilder, but her strength is clear by appearance. She's nonetheless curvy, but it's the sort of curvy the viking women of old were: the only thing she's missing is the horned hat and the big stick. She carries a bit of extra weight around the belly and hips as well. Her eyes are large and grey, and her lips are wide and full— if not for the constant scowl, she'd actually be very pretty. Her hair is black, though it is beginning to take tones of grey, and comes down to her chin, where it ciurls inwards slightly.
Personality
Scylla is a grump, no two ways about it.
There is a part of her which wishes to be social. She wishes to be friendly and buzz around like the girls she sees— the ones she considers outrageously silly. She doesn't want the annoying habits they have, of course: the mindless chittering, the birdlike attention span— but the surrounded by friends at all times things, she could appreciate. It was not meant to be, however: Scylla is a creature of small groups at most, and she gets rather awkward in social situations.
She does well with a certain kind of friend. The informal kind who's good for a laid-back joke. Indeed, though she's not much of a joker herself, she can appreciate humor- especially irony. She's fluent in sarcasm, and uses it frequently. She is also not particularly easy-going herself, but having laid-back friends does even her tempers slightly.
Without people she is off balance, which is perhaps her tragedy: she's not very good at making friends or anything like that, but she does need people to balance her grump. She's the sort that's likely to mutter and grumble about most everything, and scowl when given orders- even ones she likes. She hates being told what to do. She's ill-tempered and doesn't like to cooperate for cooperation's sake, though appealing to her better nature through bribery or reason has been known to be successful. She'll do what she needs to— she's a dragonrider, she wouldn't've survived weyrling lessons if she hadn't followed directions— she'll just grump, grumble and narrow her eyes the whole way through.
There's no real reason for it, either: it's not like she thinks she can do better, and to be honest she's happier to follow direction or work on her own then to lead- less responsibility, less accountability if things go wrong. What she does think is that other people are inefficient and annoying, and that's what she finds offensive— and, well, she's incredibly independent. She wants to do what /she wants to do/, and nothing else, so there.
Socially, she's awkward. She gets a hit of nerves in a group situation, and a wariness about the person she's around. It doesn't help that her default reaction is dislike. That said, she's not entirely unfriendly: she'll accept people slowly, and she won't be offensive upon first meeting— she'll just say 'uh' a lot. She warms surprisingly quickly, considering her normal reaction of initial dislike— she's learned that it's rarely accurate.
Scylla's a tomboy. She's always liked action sports, and one of the things she hates is drills and training and all of that dull stuff. She gets a thrill from fighting thread, even though it's dangerous. The training? It's needed, of course, but it's so dull— only when they play thread simulation games and other things she can't predict does she ever enjoy training. She also enjoys playing rough and tumble and getting dirty— if she doesn't need a bath in the evenings, then in her opinion, she's doing it wrong. The only time she really actually enjoys what she's doing is this sort of physical, active, tough activity.
Scylla's also a born fighter. It's why she's good against thread— if she hadn't impressed a dragon, she'd've joined the guard. As it stands, she enjoys sparring and would be glad to participate in a fight club, or just some informal, friendly fighting. Need to keep yourself ship shape, after all.
Family has never really appealed to Scylla, outside of Krim. To her traditional holder parents dismay, she was perfectly happy to forsake the opportunity to get married and become, in her words, a "Broodmare surrounded by rodent-childre." Riding a dragon is much preferable, even if Kriminelth is the type who might enjoy friends.
Scylla's not the kind to dish out compliments, so if one is received from her, be sure that it is meant. She does not mince her words and has no qualms about bluntness. The only person who receives compliments from her frequently is Kriminelth, and then because the dragon has such low self esteem about her appearance. Scylla doesn't give a wherry's ass what the rest of the world thinks: to her Kriminelth is a work of beautiful art, and even golds do not compare.
Scylla's tongue can also be quite acidic. She's always sarcastic, but if you actually dig up her ire, she'll cut you apart with words. She's also incredibly possessive, mostly of space: if you're in her weyr without permission, she'll flip her shit.
Scyll's not really the huggable cuddly type, and she will show her affection with a small degree of light teasing. It's never malicious, though, and if she wuvs you, she will be quite affectionate. Think a reluctant puppy who secretly likes cuddles. She also finds her dragon's tendency to come home with small animals and the not-too-infrequent creepy crawly unfortunate, but she knows who and what Kriminelth is, so she tolerates it— even if she releases the creepy crawlies into freedom shortly after they make it to her weyr.

Dragon
Kriminelth
Pink F Dragon
Kriminelth is not a beauty. When her hide dries what could have been mistaken as a dull foolishly tiny red will indeed be a pink. Her hide is a muted muddy red in color with pink undertones and next to her size the only obvious hint that she is indeed a pink is her face and tail. An almost near neon pink splashes over her nose cruelly curving under her lower lip up into an almost macabre smile a spot of the same pink on her left jaw. Her headknobs bare the same pink in color.
She will never be considered beautiful. Even though she will lack an appetite her form comes off as stocky her core more filled out then any female's should. Her head is more wedge shaped than curved and her tail is nearly twice as long as it should be. She will trip over this till she's an adult and even then it's going to be cumbersome.
