  • Note that all sexualities are fluid or basically pansexual, due to ness's own sexual mindset. All characters are at base pansexual; they could go for anyone based on personality over gender. Some of them may lean, and have a gender preference. Some may be more bisexual. Bigenders, transgenders, and other genders may not be an issue on pern, so that aspect may not be an issue. Looks

Small, delicate features and a pointed face don't say much about this girl internally; Remi has hi cheek bones and a thin, pointed noise, upturned at the base. She's not actually that short— 5'6"— but she looks like it, from the slightness of her features. She wears her hair a choppily cut chin-length, it's natural color slightly faded from the sun: a light, nutty brown. Her eyes are the same brown, and large and expressive. She tends to favor jackets made of Suede.
PLAY-BY: Angela Gots, as she was in the house episode 'Lucky Thirteen'- the character Spencer. I don't usually have a played-by, though- will that be an issue?

Personality

Remi is, for the most part, a friendly and approachable person.

She's very frank; you can count on the fact that she'll give her honest opinion on anything, even if it isn't entirely asked for. She'll only hold it back when the situation would malicious; there's very little actual malice in her, though she can be callous and uncouth. Outside of that instance, she won't really soften her thoughts or words; they are what they are, and she expects people to take them as only her two-cents.

She does this with a sense of good humor— the same good humor she approaches everything. She tends to wear a grin, even paradoxically in times of great pain, much like a cat purrs or a dog pants. Her mother used to comment that if a wild-wher tore her up, she'd probably still try to grin and bear it afterwords. Regardless of whether that's true, she does have a rich sense of humor— and a special appreciation of irony— and she tries to find the good side of a bad situation.

She does this because a life that is too painful would be unbearable, to her thoughts. She wouldn't actually know- to this date she's never been in a position where life was unbearable, but she fervently insists that she'd rather not start now.

She's pretty informal, and as such, is approachable about nearly anything. Unpleasant things perhaps slightly less so— if you need to have an Uncomfortable Talk with her about business or chastisement, she'll probably try to wriggle free somehow— but she can always be caught for things, and counted on for a conversatin.

Remi is a very 'game' woman, in the sense that she doesn't show or react to a lot of pain. Physically, she has a high tolerance, and mentally, it's even higher. She'll work through small wounds and illnesses like they're nothing- which is occasionally an issue, because she'll ignore them too, instead of treating them early, and it gives them more of a chance of getting worse. Even when she is badly hurt or ill, she doesn't like to sit still and recover, and might try to get out and do things, even when directly told not to- she just hates the idea of not doing anything for anybody. While she's not totally attached to the idea of earning your keep (mostly for the implication that if you don't you're useless— she doesn't believe anyone is useless), she's strongly attached to the idea of herself earning her keep. This aspect of her also means that if she is showing pain or illness, it's probably serious, and it's probably been there for a little while.

Interpersonal relationships are very important to Remi, and she'll strive to maintain good ones- if she feels someone's chafing, she'll approach them for a talk. If she feels like a friend and her are going out of touch, she'll ask to spend time with them. If she ever manages to find a lover, they will be the highlight of her day, and she'll adore them more and more, unless they do something she cannot truly abide by or she senses them failing. She's definitely a romantic, and enjoys being pursued slightly more then she enjoys pursuing— though really, what she'll do is a series of both. Small gestures, subtle gestures— she's not a terribly aggressive person in courtship, though she does respond favoribly when other people are. She's also sexual, and not above the idea of one-night stands— though she'll almost-always wish to extend them, because you can never know how something's going to end until you try.

She's pretty enthusiastic and energetic about things, be they social life, personal life, or work— it's an outlook thing. She seeks things that make her feel enthused and energized, because if you don't, why bother do them at all? In her spare time, she can frequently be found listening to harpers, and/or in areas with lots of people-traffic that serve alcoholic beverages.

Despite her general friendliness and semi-passive approach to life (she takes things as they come, though she does guide her circumstances with a light hand), she's not one to be steamrolled over— she can and will be assertive and aggressive if crossed. Don't try to take what's hers, don't try to remove her from a situation she has purposefully put herself in, don't talk down to her for some perceived difference: she will react, and fight for herself.

History

One of the weyrbabies, Remi was born to a young greenrider of artificial insemination. The beautiful thing about Artificial Insemination is that it's non accidental; this greenie chose to do it because she wanted to reproduce early and spread her genes, before thread could take her out or /between/ render her sterile.
But that didn't mean she had a huge hand in raising young Remi. Though she visited frequently, and Remi got to interact with green Firifth, her mother did not pay that much more then an axillary role in her formative years. No, she was raised as many weyrbrats are: by a wetnurse, and by the lower caverns in general.
It was otherwise normal- she had your standard ups and downs. Crushes, first relationships, first sexual experiences, hormones from puberty, drama about stuff— but nothing catastrophic or major that influenced her development badly. She grew into a social, relatively sound (as sound as anyone else is, anyway) adult.
She fought with the decision of standing as a candidate. Her mother and several of the staff urged her to do it, as did the riders she peripherally knew- but they always encouraged the weyrborn to stand, and so she thought relatively little of it. She would think this way or that- but as no crafts appealed to her, she decided that she would— eventually. When it felt right.
It didn't feel right until she was 17, at which point she asked to stand, and was accepted. She stood, and was unfortunately stood up- but that's the way those things went, and she was undeterred. She hasn't stopped trying since, though she's beginning, now, to get a tad worried: she's 19, and time is running out for her to be a candidate.

Streamlined for maximum speed, Chasylth has both the incredible speed of his kind and the muscle to back up his attack. Like most cheetahs, his legs are abnormally long with more paw-like forepaws. He has average-sized wings for a dragon of his length, oddly, making him like a very clumsy green in the air, but at least he can fly longer than his brothers and sisters of the same color. He will grow to 21 meters in length.
Chasylth's hide is an obnoxiously bright yellow. He lacks any white markings what-so-ever. The spots are solid black, and vary in size depending on where they are on his body. Though his tail is tipped in black, there aren't any black markings on his feet. His tear-marks are slightly broader than usual.

This long male has a sense for adventure that can't be sated. At three feet long, this greenish iku will snoop out food wherever it may be, and his eight eyes will look everywhere for him. If unoccupied, he can gnaw his way from his cage and get into other huts, so watch out!
