- Note that all sexualities are fluid or basically pansexual, due to ness's own sexual mindset. All characters are at base pansexual; they could go for anyone based on personality over gender. Some of them may lean, and have a gender preference. Some may be more bisexual. Bigenders, transgenders, and other genders may not be an issue on pern, so that aspect may not be an issue. Point: Personality over sexuality, which is why they will be listed as Pansexual with a potential lean.
Looks
yxis a small woman, only 5'2 at her tallest, but people often fail to notice this right away— something about her unconsciously strong stance makes people assume she's taller than she is. Her choppily-cut auburn hair is fairly short, and often worn purposefully mused. Nyxis treats her hair as something of a work of art, and it changes from day to day. Most of the time, most of is mused towards the left side of her head, for example, with the occasional odd strand pointing in the opposite direction. Her eyes are a deep brown shade, and this is emphasized by the fact that she's taken to wearing something similar to Kohl powder around her eyes, to reduce the glare of the Pernese sun.
Personality
Life isn't a game, to Nyxis. It's an incredibly serious thing, and it frequently upsets her how carelessly other people approach life.
Very strong and confident, Nyxis gives the impression of Severity, which isn't entirely untrue. She is a very severe person, everything she does is with a very serious passion which alienates most normal people. She can be brought out of her shell slightly, but it's rare, since it's far out of her comfort zone- she'd rather just deal with herself and the goings on in her own head.
She's unintentionally a cold person, answering most people shortly and keeping to herself. She doesn't have much in the way of friendliness or approachability, and she's got a very sharp wit and a fondness for sarcasm. Whatever it is people are trying to do, she usually Doesn't Approve.
Rarely malicious, she can be cruel, especially when it comes to her wit; her sharp tongue wins her very few friends. It's not usually intentional, but she doesn't usually feel bad when she says something unintentionally hurtful, anyway. It comes with the package.
Relatively quiet, she doesn't talk much, and prefers to keep to her studies- she's incredibly intelligent, if distant. Her grasp of language is very good, and she might've suited the harpercraft well, if it weren't for her lack of interest in the subject. Her interest does lie with animals; she grew up in the herdcraft, and to them she'll afford the exceptions she won't give to humankind. To see her with animals is almost to see someone entirely different: she's patient, distantly gentle, and even occasionally affectionate.
Despite her coldness and slight tendencies towards misanthropy, she is a good teacher. Possessing surprising patience (for the animals, mostly), she understands the relationship between teachers and students, and understands the gravity of authority: that a cruel teacher can ruin people and cause pain. She approaches teaching the same way she approaches training an animal— distant but patient, with rewards for doing well. She's still distant and kind of cold, but she'll rein in her harsh wit, when dealing with people who are her technical subordinates. She just doesn't suffer fools that easily.
Her respect is hard won, but hard to loose, and she's also very loyal— if she gets that far with people, there isn't much that can turn her away from them, much like an exceptionally reserved dog.
History
Born into the herderhall, the choice to be a beastcrafter was an easy one for Nyx to make; it came naturally to her. Being much better with animals then she was with people, she took an early liking to felines, and began to specialize in them— though at her present level of training, she's begun very little work in her speciality, and is familiar with the basics for most species, with more information on the carnivorous domesticated creatures, in order to lead into her feline speciality.
It was on a visit out of Keroon, to Telgar, on hall business that she met more closely the watchwhers: she'd been relatively unfamiliar with them otherwise, but was instantly taken with them. IT was something she couldn't get out of her mind- somewhat unusual for her, and so she took a leave from the hall in order to pursue it further. She went back to Telgar, the start of her original fascination with teh creature, and is currently there as a wher candidate.

Rose-gold F Wher
This creature is curiously colored, even for a dual-colored Rose-Gold. Her coloring is surprisingly pale, almost shockingly so. A soft, pale pink covers her face, fading into an even paler shade over the tops of her wings and front legs. It fades to gold by the end of her wings. Her back legs and tail are also this gold. As a similar color, this gold is quite pale. One would think that a female with such delicate coloring would be equally delicate in form. However, this does not apply to her. She is large, but with an awkward shape. She is almost pudgy, in comparison to other more muscular whers. Her wings are even shorter than other whers, almost surprisingly small. Her legs and tail are both thick and long. This is no doubt where her clumsiness stems from.
