- Note that all sexualities are fluid or basically pansexual, due to ness's own sexual mindset. All characters are at base pansexual; they could go for anyone based on personality over gender. Some of them may lean, and have a gender preference. Some may be more bisexual. Bigenders, transgenders, and other genders may not be an issue on pern, so that aspect may not be an issue. Point: Personality over sexuality, which is why they will be listed as Pansexual with a potential lean.
Looks
A tall woman, Morti is 6'2" and strong— she's covered in lithe muscle, a product of riding a dragon from an early age. She's got curves, but they're distracted from by her strong stance and her severe expression— she always looks like she Doesn't Approve, which isn't necessarily accurate. Her mutation manifests physically a pair of long, ivory horns, which grow from her cheekbones and follow the lines of her chin, curving downwards viciously. These horns drip a very caustic acid, if she chooses them to, which she regularly "milks" and puts in ceramic shells, which can then be dropped on a target with very unpleasant results. She wears these at her belt.
Personality
The impression of severity that her looks give off is not far off the mark: Morti is a pretty severe person. she has a set of rigorous standards that she adheres to religiously, and she expects other people to do the same— if not to her standards, then to at least attempt to better themselves as much as possible. Strength is something she greatly respects— physical AND otherwise.
She herself is strong, but it's a very natural strength; she didn't really have to work for it at all. Her force of personality is stable, with a natural confidence in herself that tarnslates easily to success in her actions. This is where her strength comes from: that, and the sureness that whatever bad happens, she can get through it in once piece, especially if she''s got her dragon with her.
While not necessarily smart, she is wise— she doesn't take risks she doesn't need to, and doesn't poke fights she doesn't need to. Her book-smarts are tolerable, but they are second to her wisdom, which serves her well. She's also very stable, and calming— the perfect lodestone.
Despite all this, she can be dangerous— she's physically strong, and was very interested in sword and dagger fighting, despite their use as weapons not being allowed amongst the dragonriders' ranks. She is a skilled fighter with these, and with the advent of her acid-bombs, she is a force to be reckoned with.
The ends justify the means, with her, so long as you don't hurt anyone or render too much permanent damage; she won't kill anyone, or tear limbs off, but otherwise, she can be pretty ruthless when it comes to doing something for a just cause. Stealing, breaking things, liberal threats: She'll employ all of these, if the end result is worth it. It's important to note that this isn't a selfish motivation, however— that end result has to be for the good of her people, somehow. this most often is the weyr, but she'll do things in the name of all of Pern, or the occasional hold she's fond of.
Abilities
Two long horns that grow out of her cheekbones; they go out two inches before curving downwards wickedly, following the line of her jaw and going down when they run out of that. These horns can drip a very caustic acid, at will, which she regularly "milks". She has to drip this acid clear twice a day, every day, and has a special set of basins in her weyr for this purpose; if she fails to do this, it will build up and start eating through the internal sacs that contain it, burning holes in her jaw, cheeks, and eventually throat.
History
Born and raised in Telgar weyr, Morti stood as soon as it was possible for her to do so, and it was no surprise that she impressed a green dragonet on her first go. Morti was 12 at the time; they've been together ever since, predictably, relying on each other for survival. Salsooth's quickness and intuitive reactions kept them alive for much of the disasters, with Morti's strength and abilities filling in the gaps the green couldn't fill; they rely on each other, and make a very good pair.
By the time the plague struck, they'd already been through their share of hardships, and thought they were nearly invincible. The plague changed everything; Morti came very close to being amongst the casualties, and Salsooth barely ate, during that time. How either of them survived defies common sense; all the healers thought both were done for. They both managed to pull through, however, Morti gaining the odd addition of the acid-dripping horns.
These might've been the source of some angst, but Morti wasn't given to such things; she found use for the acid, putting it in ceramic shells that would split apart when dropped from afar or thrown, spewing the harsh acid everywhere.
In the five years since the sickness, the pair have spent time recovering and getting stronger then they were before, and regularly ventures to the main continent to help repel pirates and run abrupt searches.
