Morian's Lannauth

Red Lannauth

Stocky but graceful, Lannauth is built like a lion. Her form is round, but it's a roundness that comes of well-exercised muscle, and power built into every inch of her frame. Her hide is a deep red, similar to the visceral shade of spilled blood. The contours of her face are beautiful but severe: Everything about Lannauth speaks predetor.

Personality

In Lannauth, Morian has found a confidant, an ally, and a true friend.

The red has the same sort of casual arrogance as her rider, and speaks with the same acidic, sardonic tongue. She's perpetually curious and amused by the motivations of others, and will question them and occasionally mock them for the hearts of these actions. She's also wickedly perceptive- she possesses that empathetical quality of a searchdragon to know exactly who and what the person she's looking at is, though "empathetic" when applied to her only refers to this intuitive knowledge— she is not empathetic in any conventional sense of the word, and rarely feels sympathy for others. On the contrary, she can be downright sadistic, and seems to take pleasure in watching people squirm. She's rarely malicious, in that she won't cause most people lasting or detrimental pain— but she'll nudge them into uncomfortable situations just to watch them writhe.

Bluntness and honesty are two of Lannauth's fortes, but she doesn't do them halfway. While they are occasionally a virtue, she'll pursue them to a fault: that intuitive sense of people means she knows things about people, and she has no problems stating them. That truth you didn't want to face? She'll bring it up with no sense of tact or gentleness. This is not deliberately to be cruel, though she might enjoy the pain- she simply doesn't believe it does anyone any good by pussyfooting around things. It's cowardly, and she hates cowards.

Like her rider, Lannauth is incredibly sexual. Like her rider, this is partially because of a want for power. She can be as manipulative as Morian, and flirting and flights are a way to solidify power. She also enjoys flights for their own right, as acts of pleasure. She's as interested in Morian's sex life as Morian is, constantly giving her input about which male Morian may be pursuing or which female is more attractive. Her strategic mind isn't as sharp as her rider's, but the intuitive searchdragon's edge will help plant Morian's strategy, or alert her to other modes of getting something across. Rather then sleeping with the wingleader, for instance, Lannauth may pick up the signals and lay the groundwork for sleeping with the wingsecond, who in turn has the ear of the wingleader.. that sort of thing.

It's interesting to note that unlike her rider, Lannauth is not afraid of the emotional connections that come with sex. Indeed, she kind of revels in them. A flirt, she'll occasionally be caught by the same male a few times, and form the beginnings of a relationship with him. She is a social creature, and enjoys the company of her fellow dragon, even if she is not the most talkative dragon in the weyr. She may urge Morian into relaxing in social situations or involving herself further in the social activities of the weyr, though this may be a fruitless mission. She herself will certainly be involved. Lannauth likes people, even if she likes to see them writhe a bit.

Lannauth isn't as ambitious as her rider, but she is a dominant female. The only way to get under her skin and actually get her angry— which her sardonicness usually protects against— is to call her a coward or challenge her dominance. She won't stand for being bullied, and hates being reminded where her place in the hierarchy is- which is to say, nearer to the bottom then the top.

Lannauth adores fish- they're her favorite food. She also enjoys water, especially seawater, and will always be up for a trip to the beach. She also has a fondness for two-tones. Younger, female two-tones will be treated like beloved little sisters, and male two-tones will find their attempts to flirt slightly more appreciated then their single-colored brothers may.
