- Note that all sexualities are fluid or basically pansexual, due to ness's own sexual mindset. All characters are at base pansexual; they could go for anyone based on personality over gender. Some of them may lean, and have a gender preference. Some may be more bisexual. Bigenders, transgenders, and other genders may not be an issue on pern, so that aspect may not be an issue. Looks
At 6'0", Morasil is pretty safely 'tall'. He seems to have reached his full height, but still has some filling-out to do: his frame and his features are long, as if whatever was driving his growth-spurt concentrated making him tall. His features are further given the impression of length by a usually calm expression and long lips. He's prone to tanning and has a tan if he's been out in the sun at all, and his eyes are large and gray-green. His long black hair is usually worn back in a ponytail.
Personality
Morasil was born to be a healer.
This boy is very calm and serious. He's like a lodestone; there's something about him which is very soothing and comforting- he speaks softly, and is very friendly. He's self-confident: he knows what and why he is, and that seems to bleed out in his relationships from the world and give him a grounding with which to pass on the stability.
His bedside manner is excellent- he'll be honest, but gentle. There's no reason to be brutal with bad news, after all: the bad news is itself enough of a blow. He's very tactful, even when dealing with people who are irate and unhappy, and very patient.
Morasil is a very motivated person; he's driven to succeed in his craft. Where he might've ordinarily been interested in the harpercraft, the death of his sisters led him down the healer path: he doesn't like not knowing the answers, and he hoped that by joining the healers, he could find them. His dedication to his craft is impressive- it can border on obsessive sometimes, and he'll need to be reminded to take breaks when things get really interesting, or he's really needed.
He's a very sensitive, empathetic person, who has a tendency to get close to people and befriend him. He keeps his friends close and his family closer: he likes to be in regular contact with all of his loved ones, making sure they're doing alright. He'll make time for social engagements with his people, just to be sure they're doing okay: relationships are important. He loves people, genuinely, and he wants to make them happy and okay.
This is both a boon and a downfall to his work: it makes him a very driven healer, very interested in helping people. It also makes it that much more devastating when something fails or someone cannot be helped- which is why this trait is considered slight naivety in healers. It also means he'll stretch himself out to his limits to try to help someone, and deprive himself of sleep, for instance.
History
Born to masterhaper Maril, at the point where Maril was still at the harper hall, Morasil grew up with his siblings in the harper hall. His early life was pretty typical: he got a great education, being at one of Pern's hubs for education, and excelled in his lessons. He showed some tendency towards the harpercraft early, but stumbled upon healing quite by accident: helping his Aunt Morai tend to someone when she came to visit, he discovered he had quite an interest in the healing arts.
At the age of 10, he began informally learning to heal: there was enough of a contingent of healers that he could begin some preliminary steps to apprenticeship and actually carry quite far. He took his time with things, not entirely sure if he wanted to be a harper or a healer- fondness for both was strong in him.
When he was 12, something changed to solidify his attentions to the healercraft: Kasila became pregnant, with very unusual circumstances: the babies were twins, and the first was stillborn. As upsetting as that was, it became moreso when te second died without warning, not terribly long after birth.
This was emotionally devastating, and moreso because he didn't know why, and no one could tell him why. Mora resolved to be a healer, and hopefully find out what was the cause of that— and hopefully prevent it in the future, for other people's families.
At around that point, Mora went off to the healer hall to live with his aunt for a bit, and make his apprenticeship official. He stayed with her for about two turns, before traveling some in both her company and the company of his father: throughout all of this, he kept working on his apprenticeship. One thing about people: they always need a healer, no matter where they are, and so there are always opportunities to learn.
When his father moved to the weyr, Morasil decided to follow him- he's been there since, with some of his family, and signed up to be a candidate in the process.
The first clutch he stood at, he was passed over- a major disappointment, but he swallowed his unhappiness in a valiant attempt to move forward: there would be more chances, and if a dragon passed him by, he would simply focus on his healing instead. He still dreams of dragonriding, and has not rescinded his name from candidacy- he has no intention to, and has every intention to stand for the next clutch, and then the clutch after that, until he's too old, and continue his apprenticeship in the times between.
