Name: M'in
Nickname:
Pre-impression name: Martin
Position: weyrlings
Past Ranks: Candidate, herdcraft apprentice
Gender: Male
Sexuality*: Pan, leans towards girls
- Note that all sexualities are fluid or basically pansexual, due to ness's own sexual mindset. All characters are at base pansexual; they could go for anyone based on personality over gender. Some of them may lean, and have a gender preference. Some may be more bisexual. Bigenders, transgenders, and other genders may not be an issue on pern, so that aspect may not be an issue. Point: Personality over sexuality, which is why they will be listed as Pansexual with a potential lean.
Looks
Despite his youth, M'in is a tad short- he's only about 5'3", and light to match. He hopes sincerely for a growth spurt, and it's already happening, leaving him with long, lanky limbs and an awkward gate. His form promises to fill out, though no one has any idea if he'll get taller or not. His features are soft and friendly, with a smile that splits his face in half whenever he brings it out- which is usually the case. His skin is a natural creamy shade of tan, which is usually deepened considerably from constantly being out in the sun, working with herdbeasts- particularly draft herdbeasts. The job also ensures that his frame, though slight, has muscle to it: you don't work with creatures that are about a ton in weight without gaining some muscle. His hair is dark brown, and he doesn't care much for it: it's to his shoulders, and usually shaggy.
Personality
It's hard not to like M'in. Friendly and gregarious, he's informal and outgoing: he'll make the first approach, but he is not particularly imposing- nonthreatening but friendly. He's skilled at getting past people's internal walls and making them feel comfortable, even if they start out as complete strangers, and it's completely unintentional. He's just being himself, and he's a lot like the well-adjusted Labrador retriever that thinks everyone's it's friend.
While life isn't a game or frivolous, it's not the most serious thing in the world, either: M'in likes to relax and have a good time. He doesn't see the point in getting all worked up about things- that only leads to unhappiness and excessive stress. He's laid-back and will err on the side of comfort more often then not.
He's very concerned with living life to the fullest: this is where it becomes clear that life isn't a complete joke to him— or rather, it's a joke he really enjoys. He celebrates life by living as much as he possibly can, which means having fun whenever possible and trying to be happy. He likes to cheer people up when he can, and looks to make life a happy, fulfilling thing for himself and those close to him.
Both of these traits can occasionally get him into trouble; his priorities err on the side of comfort more then work. That isn't to say he's a slacker: not by a long-shot. He cares about what he does, and will work very hard at things— but he will leave his work at home when he's done. He can also be absent-minded, easily distracted, and inclined to make non-responsible decisions, which can make his superiors displeased.
M'in is definitely the sort of person who laughs with the world, even when the world is laughing at him. He loves a good joke, and isn't above being the butt of the joke himself— as long as it's not malicious. But then, if it's malicious, it's not really a funny joke anyway, in his eyes.
Friendly, outgoing, gregarious, doesn't take life seriously, joker, jokes about himself, lives life to the fullest, priorities are such that he gets in trouble for it- not a slacker, but life to himself is priority. Easily distracted.
History
M'in is the son of one of the beastmasters— not THE herdmaster of pern, but one of them. He was born at the crafthall proper, and spent the first few turns of his life there. As one would expect from the son of a beastmaster, he grew up around animals. His chores all had to do with the herdcraft— instead of helping clean out the quarters, he grew up mucking out stalls alongside herder apprentices.
When he was about 10, his mother was transferred to the weyr, for two turns. He followed her, of course, and this expanded his horizons: now he spent much of his free time watching the dragons make their kills in the big feeding pens, and entertaining the sort of childhood dreams all pernese boys think of: dragonriding.
He entered the herdcraft officially at the age of 10, and continued the apprenticeship at the weyr. Even after his mom went back to the proper crafthall, he continued his apprenticeship with the small group of herders at the weyr, all in hopes that perhaps he would be searched.
He started standing at dragon hatchings at the age of 11, and has not stopped being a candidate, even while working (somewhat casually) towards his herdcraft goals; the dragonriding was his primary goal.
M'in was in luck: on this third turn, close to his 15th turnday, he managed to impress Blue Opacheth: best early birthday present either.
Original Bio
This character was adopted. He was not originally written by me: DonaldD is the original writer of this character. Unlike the rest of my characters, who should under absolutely NO circumstances be put up for adoption, including the dragons who impressed on camera, if I am to go inactive/retire him/quit, I give up the rights to this character, and he may be put up for adoption.

Character Name: Martin (Martin)
Character Name Pronunciation:Mar-Tin

Character Rank:Candidate
Character Skills:Animal Handling
Appearance:Martin is a bit short for his age, standing around 5'3 and around 140 pounds. He has Dark Brown hair, and brown eyes. His hair is hanging down to his shoulders and usually a bit shaggy. He has a smile that is usually a mile wide, and tanned from working outdoors with the herdbeasts.
Personality:Friendly and outgoing. He is one who doesn't take life seriously, but will take and joke about himself more often than not. Taking life and himself not so seriously has been a bit of a problem, not that he's a slacker, but feels that life should be lived to the fullest.
History: M'tin was born to one of the master beast masters, and was raised to take and work with them. He loves the outdoors, and used to watch the dragons feed on the outskirts of the pens with awe.

Dragon
Opacheth
Blue M Dragon
His appearance is as stunning and amusing as his personality. A dark blue hide makes the base for a canvas of lighter patches that splotch his hide like someone has decided to splash paint all over him. There's no pattern in the spots, no real form to them either. Just a mass of lighter patches and marks that make him interesting to look at. They compliment the bulging muscles beneath that hide of his, the coils of them more likely to be seen on a small Brown, and yet they appear on him. To be fair he is most definitely in the larger spectrum for a Blue, and it's unlikely that he'll ever be able to perform those short little manoeuvres the lower ranks are known for, but he'll be able to last an entire Threadfall as easily as a Brown - even if he wanes towards the end of it. That can't be helped, his colour wasn't made for things like that.
