- Note that all sexualities are fluid or basically pansexual, due to ness's own sexual mindset. All characters are at base pansexual; they could go for anyone based on personality over gender. Looks
Tall, about 5'8", Loriatz is still shorter then most men. Her stature is light, delicate, and her skin pale. Her hair is strait, and she tends to wear it long, when she's not doing something that demands a ponytail for practicality's sake— it's a rich auburn brown tone.
Personality
Despite the fact that there isn't much directly about Loriatz that might make you think her strange, she has this air of abnormality to her. It's in the way she carries herself, the little smile she's almost always wearing— an air of mystery, like she knows some great secret about the world that no one else does.
She doesn't, really, and she completely acknowledges that— but that doesn't change the way she carries herself.
She seems strangely delicate. She's fairly quiet, and doesn't speak much, even when spoken to. Her answers are usually considered for a moment, and everything she says is spoken softly. Her answers are usually short, though not so as to be deliberately unfriendly. She has a natural grace to her movements, one that implies dignity.
Loriatz is experiential. She likes to learn by doing, and she likes, despite her quietness, to have adventures. Staying cooped up in her weyr is no fun; she wants to get out and do things, reckless or not. She's confident, which is part of what her natural grace consists of, and that confidence sees fit to bear her through anything she thinks she can put her mind to.
Loriatz is fond of bright colors: she wears them frequently. She also wears flowing skirts when she can, though this is not an expression of the society in which she was raised, as one might think.
Strong-minded and brave, Loriatz can be quite stubborn when she wants to. Society's limits do not constrain her mentally; she's grown beyond them, and any chance she sees at social freedoms she will grab with two hands. Self-expression is a required part of her life, and she admires it in other people, simply for the freedom it has to exist. She's brave- the level of opponents she faces will not strike her down, no matter the fact that she's a woman or she rides green.
Naturally a diplomatic soul, when the option's open, Loriatz will pursue change and manipulation through official channels- if she's being harassed, she'll report it and change wings. If life seems closer to her goals at another weyr, she'll go through the motions for a transfer. She'll do petitions and conduct herself in orderly ways, even when she's being a bit of a rebel.
Affectionate and welcoming, Loriatz is friendly until you cross her directly. she's been through a lot in her life, and it's had a mellowing affect. If you're welcoming, so too will she be. If you're cruel or unfriendly, she'll simply ignore you and consider herself above such idiocy.
History
Loriatz grew up in the North. A weyrbrat of Fort, she was exposed to a freer section of pernese society— but it was still deeply rooted in tradition. Women stood, but rarely, and female greenriders fought with golds, in the lowermost wing, despite their equivalent abilities. This was the atmosphere she grew up in.
When she asked to stand, it was mildly scandalous— but since she was a woman, they allowed her to stand for gold. She didn't get gold, but one of the greens from the main clutch approached her instead, choosing her as a rider instead of the boys.
This led to a rather odd state for Loriatz. She was at once considered unworthy of riding a fighting dragon, and very desirable— especially post-weyrling-training. While the general consensus was that she, a woman, was not suited to the hard life of a dragonrider, she was also a female rider for greens— the most common and frequently rising dragons in the weyr. Her flights were always well-populated, and they weren't always very pleasant.
Despite this, she pushed forward and made a niche for herself. She was a nuisance to those in charge, especially those who looked down on her, and she constantly urged young women to stand for dragonets that weren't just gold.
She heard through a number of sources the differences in the south, and how welcoming they were to women. It was a slow process, her decision to transfer: she didn't want to give up on all the work she was doing at Fort. But she was only one woman, and it was wearing on her, and the southern weyrs seemed a much better atmosphere for a female greenrider. Thus, she requested a transfer, and those at fort were more then happy to let her go.
When she starts, she'll be a fresh transfer to Sapphos.

Green F Dragon
Deep murky greens blend with more blue-toned shades of deep green across the base of her hide, claiming her wings in entirety. They are broken, on her haunches, by uneven patches of brighter green, which also bloom up her neck. A ghostly pale teal-green lights on her face, like a hazy mask. Brighter spots of the same color light along her torso- strange bright spots in darkness.
