Looks
Lit is a relatively tall boy, and gangy because of his age— though, given his family history, he'll always be relatively long-limbed and lanky. His skin is a very creamy tan tone, and his hair is worn long. It's wavy and thick, and naturally a very bright auburn color. His eyes are bright green, and his features angular and somewhat large. They seem almost a little too large for his face, giving him a somewhat strange appearance, though his smile serves to make him more attractive.
Personality
Easygoing and friendly, Liturg is pretty easy to get along with. The only people he doesn't really get along with are those who are offended by his relaxed attitude— and even then, he'll usually be more likely to avoid them then offend them directly.
He's very sweet and affectionate, with a very long string of patience and a subtle sense of humor. Due to this relaxed patience and his chronic friendliness, he's got a sort of amiable serenity to him that he seems to exude; he can calm people very easily with this, and when faced with an upset friend, will be company when they need it, and a logical voice if they want it. He's fond of children and animals, and, indeed, most people— it takes a lot to make him dislike someone.
He's a generally abstract creature, when it comes to his mind and thoughts, and spends a lot of time thinking about the implications and symbolism behind things and actions. He can approach a situation with logic, especially if he's removed from it, but he is more likely to apply emotion and think things through that way. He's got a mind for philosophy and moral thinking; he'll amuse himself for hours simply by entertaining these sorts of thought-trains.
He's very concerned with the ideas of social justice and equality, and the mass humanity of people involved. He doesn't like seeing anyone treated badly— that's one of the only ways to raise his ire. He doesn't get violent or angry, per se— he's a pacifist, and it would take a lot to get him to step so far away from his own boundaries— but he'll get quite snarky.
He's especially concerned with the perception of mutants; perhaps because of his closeness to several of them, he doesn't understand, truly, why anyone would think badly of them, and not consider them people. IT's one of the causes he's most passionate about.
Considering a fellow thinking, feeling creature a Person is one of his most innermost moral codes, and breaking that is something he finds truly disgusting. He's something of a hippie activist, with a rich emotional life. His primary goal is happiness, for himself and those closest to him, but a greater goal is happiness for humankind, which he realizes is a futile task.
He's a very smart kid, though people can occasionally overlook this, because of the head-in-the-cloud atmosphere with which he holds himself, and the levels of relaxed that are part of his person. His abstraction and laid-back qualities both make him look very out there and occasionally lazy. The former may be true, but the latter is not (most of the time).
Liturg is a very haphazard person, which can be a flaw: he'll be in the middle of doing something, his attention will shift, and he'll forget what he was doing, for instance. His living quarters are a perpetual mess, and he has issues with organization. His memory is occasionally not the best, either— he'll remember important things, and names and faces, but small details are harder for him, and specific times, dates, and numerical values take effort for him to remember.
Liturg also has a fondness for mind-altering substances of all kinds, and frequently indulges in them for a litany of reasons: recreation, and the changes they make to thinking he'll occasionally want to induce. He'll even engage in the use of mind-altering substances to affect changes in his various artworks: writing and music, primarily, though he dabbles in drawing. He keeps a record of various local biologies of this nature, and a small stash of them as well.
Easygoing, relaxed, friendly, sweet, affectionate, VERY laid back, abstract, happy. Hippie, social justice, equality. Intelligent, scholarly.
History
Liturg was born in the weyr, and there he spent much of his early days— he still takes a lot of conventions from the weyr, when it comes to lifestyle and openmindedness. He didn't stay there too long, however— he showed musical talent and a fondness for learning from a young age, and so, when 10, he asked to go to the harper hall, to be an apprentice. This he did, and has been there since, at the main crafthall at remnant.
Five years ago, when the plague swept through, his group of friends was affected. He himself got sick, and healed from it slowly, as did all of his friends— most of them, however, did not survive. Only Lucci did, and she was changed— she started growing hallucingenic fungus, on her body. She was the youngest of the group, and already had something of a younger-sister dynamic with him, btu as this mutation was exposed and impossible to avoid, and people started treating her differently because of it, he got very protective of her. This is where a lot of his thinking on the subject of social equality and mutants comes from.
