Consise/Basics
Name: Liali
Nickname: Li
Position: Weyrling
Past Ranks: Holdbrat, healer apprentice, Healer journeyman, Candidate
Gender: female
Sexuality*: pansexual
- Note that all sexualities are fluid or basically pansexual, due to ness's own sexual mindset. All characters are at base pansexual; they could go for anyone based on personality over gender. Some of them may lean, and have a gender preference. Some may be more bisexual. Bigenders, transgenders, and other genders may not be an issue on pern, so that aspect may not be an issue. Point: Personality over sexuality, which is why they will be listed as Pansexual with a potential lean.
Looks
Liali is not a tall girl at 5'4"- on the short end for a pernese. Her shape is relatively round, with a curvy sort of build and soft features. Her hair is naturally a rich auburn, and she keeps this back in a ponytail most of the time, to keep it out of her work. Her skin is a creamy tone, which burns easily in the sun rather then tanning, and is marked with freckles that also make an appearance in sunlight. Her features are soft, with a button-nose and large gray eyes.
She tends towards wearing loose clothing, whenever she's not wearing the controlled wardrobe of a healer. Dresses, though not practical, are some of her favorite things to wear. Her favorite colors are rich reds and browns, and thus they frequent heavily in her wardrobe. She has no jewelry to speak of, except perhaps a bag that follows her most places. This bag is just an ordinary messenger bag, of black leather, where she keeps a lot of the materials used for her studies.
Personality
Quirks: she finds most firelizards annoying, she's afraid of men but has no real reason for the fear.
Fears: being alone her entire life, picking up some illness in the process of treating it as a healer
Personality:
Compassionate and sweet, Liali has always had hte makings for an excellent nurse— it came to her naturally. Her dedication keeps her on track and makes her unwilling to leave her patients, sometimes even when it might be detrimental for her not to.
Friendly, she'll give just about anyone a chance— she doesn't believe in ostracizing people, or teasing them based on stupid things like appearances. If she sees children doing that, she'll stop and give them a lecture, and she'll stick up for her friends if they need it. A bit idealistic, she'll give people chance after chance after chance, always willing to believe they can change and do better. The bad side of this is that she's manipulatable. She's a very gentle person, with a deep internal sense of justice—- protect the weak, and let people shine as best they possibly can.
Liali is also incredibly sensitive and emotional, which can be problematic in her line of work. She's in control of herself and has never been given to big shows of emotions, or break downs, but nevertheless, the job of essentially battlefield nurse is not one that rests easily on the sensitive soul. Incredibly empathetic, the pain of her patients wears on her. Her first day on the job was traumatic, seeing the effects of the first disastrous threadfall, and she's not entirely recovered. she falls ill relatively easily— just small things, like colds— and is lax on taking care of herself. She'll avoid sleep (to keep the images of wounds and missing limbs from haunting her dreams as they often do) and forget to eat. She's stoic and strong, but even her resolve is being tested and worn down.
Sweet, dedicated, emotional, just, friendly, equality, gives people chances, loyal, gentle, compassionate, stoic, patient.
History
Like Versersus, Liali grew up in a small but prosperous hold at the height of Pern's electrical age. Her family was also very social, and close to that of Versersus, particularly her mother. They grew up close, childhood friends almost as early as they could walk. Liali had none of the problems with being teased that Ver did, and was dismayed at his problems- she stuck up for him frequently, though it never seemed to do any good.
Always compassionate, at a young age Liali showed good signs for healing, and by the time she'd reached the age of 13, she was ready to choose her craft: healer. she went to a healer hall, and Versersus followed her to a branch of hte harper hall beside it. They stayed close, spending a brief stint as lovers, though Liali broke it apart to focus on her studies and because she didn't feel for Ver what he felt for her. That became a point of awkwardness between them, and though she stayed close to him, she had no intentions of carrying out a relationship again, and felt rather awkward that he still wanted one so badly.
Things progressed normally otherwise: Liali excelled at her studies, making journeyman at the age of 17, shortly after thread fell. This may've been because there was suddenly a major need of healers, after it's return— many who were scheduled to walk the tables in a turn or two were pushed forward, if they were ready, and Liali was certainly educated well-enough. Shortly after her ceremony, she was sent to the weyr.
Versersus followed her there too, but she was too busy to be confronted with the awkwardness: she was plunged directly into a warzone. The dragons didn't have experience fighting thread, and the results were catastrophic. She was confronted with gruesome aftermath of the threadfalls, and everything she hadn't learned from books— there was so much that couldn't be conveyed in text— she learned quickly by experience.
The gruesomeness hasn't ended, though it has eased slightly as more and more healers are sent to the weyr, which always needs them badly, and the dragons become more experienced against thread. Versersus, who had been standing for clutches and urging her to do the same, seems to be making some headway with that idea. The experiences of healing are weighing heavily on her, and she's beginning to feel the pains in her health. She never wants to entirely stop healing, but a change of venue seems to be in order.

Dragon

Veiath
Coal M Dragon
Medium in size, but built thinly and appears sleek, if not feminine, when moving. Somewhat large, dark gray wings. It looks like if he was left longer in the egg he would have been a blue, since the front quarter of his body has been coated in a midnight sky shade. That same color fades into the light gray color on his back and legs, creating swirls similar to what mist may look like. Silver and black markings are found under his eyes, on his legs, and on the tips of his tail and headknobs.
