Kimba's Loscarth (Mystic Ista)

"I saw the world, and it bit me" Blue Loscarth

Loscarth is a big blue, with striking colors (which will be shown on his reference). His build is strong and muscular- he is built more like a brown then an agile blue, with thick muscles. His frame would be long and wirey but for the muscles, and thus he has a distinct large-feline quality about him. Round, powerful features, big wings, and deep facial features make a dragon who looks constantly like he's brooding- and he usually is. For his size, he looses agility, and does not have the endurance a brown would be expected to have, as he is still well within the spectrum for what is normal for blue. His eyes always have a tinge of yellow in them, regardless of how he's feeling- this was thought to be genetic, but is not; just a factor of his strange personality.

Personality

Loscarth is not entirely all there, mentally.

He's not slow, he's not fast.. but he is twisted. His version of reality isn't really.. what it should be. It's a minor defect, one that wasn't caught by anyone except Kimba when he hatched, and it might just be personality variation. Regardless of it's cause, it's there.

Though you wouldn't know from his actions and attitudes, Loscarth's problem is that he feels and sees too much. It's like his mind is bombarded with too much stimuli for him to process accurately. Only Kimba sees this, and she tries to sooth it. He gets the draconic equivalent to headaches frequently, and frequently speaks of general malaise. It results in a relatively constant bad mood.

Loscarth is incredibly sensitive and empathetic. That's kind of the problem. He retracts into a mental little shell he has, and shows the world none of that. This sensitivity and empathy makes him a great search dragon- he knows, knows, knows what kind of candidates to get. It is both emotional, and something else that is uniquely dragon.

At the same time, that sensitivity has cracked him. He can't screen stimuli. The world hurts. Thus, he relies heavily on Kimba, his effective filter, who he adores and hides behind. He relies on her heavily— he needs her. As such, he's possessive of her, and is mildly jealous— he hates anything that takes her attention away. It's a silent, seething hatred, but anyone she sleeps with will be on the end of it. Strangely, if anything becomes a permanent fixture, he likes it— he'll resent, at first, pets and firelizards and even lovers, but if they stick around he'll decide they're his, too, and will exercise the same level of possessiveness.

Externally, he's quiet and brooding. He does tend to brood, prone towards obsessive behavior, and as long as he has memory of something he'll pick it apart, analyze it, think of all it's possible consequences, and how he should've done stuff differently. Unfortunately, this will lead him to largely being inactive— he'll be too busy thinking of how he should've done something differently to tackle the next big object. Kimba is there for him in that regard too— she's his motivator, she notices when a situation is coming up and she leaps on it, and she gives him hints as to when to leap too.

He's not entirely helpless on his own, though. Loscarth's ambition makes Kimba's look like vague whims. He wishes he were adamantine. He thinks he would be king, if only he had the color! And the fact that he was born small and blue is a personal slight- frequently the thing he broods about. He feels he would be the best leader, that he deserves high ranks! And it's not only ranks he desires— it's the power behind them. Ranks are a means to an end. What he wants is the ability to command. He would be an imperialistic leader- he would conquer land. Holds bothering them? He'd flame the holds and annex them. It's good that he's not a leader, for this and other reasons beside- he'd be too distracted by acquisition to understand management. He'd run his land to the ground, mining it so he could get more and more. The responsibility of leadership is beyond him; it's power he wants. He's quite power-hungry.

He's also not above backstabbing. If it suits him, he'll do it. Fuck everyone else. Don't get in his way. Loscarth has very few he calls friends, and even fewer he'd bother being loyal to.

His twisted views of reality- which occasionally manifest in hallucinations, and more in strange attitudes and conclusions— make him potentially dangerous. He's unpredictable. He'll never do anything the entirely same way, and he's prone to lashing out. He'd be an active danger if it wasn't for Kimba, who keeps him in check and prevents him from doing things which would be catastrophic.

Loscarth is not entirely silent. He is quiet, but he will speak when he has reason. He's an ironic soul, very droll, and is heavily sarcastic. He speaks in an unconcerned drawl.

Loscarth expects a lot from candidates he's searched. If they Impress, he's very proud of them, and if they fail, he sees it as a personal slight. He encourages them to keep going, of course— but it's still a point against them. He doesn't like to be wrong. Loscy also keeps up an interest in his candidates even after the hatching, regardless of whether they've Impressed or not.

Mindvoice

Speaks with a drawl, slow, usually sarcastic. Cold. Comes with an odd dry, sandy quality to it, like a desert, sand heated to glass, and stinging desert sandstorms.
