Gre'ame's Hrokrothoth

The Vigilant Stormcrow Hrokrothoth

In build, this is an odd dragon. He seems larger then he actually is, and more ruffled. Deep, strong features give him a brooding, sullen stare, which actually fits him quite well. His limbs seem awkward and longer then they need to be, slightly too-thin enough to look awkward. His joints are bulky, and he looks downright knobbly. That, and his tendency to hold himself close together— wings usually held close, head kept far from what he looks at and arched from his body.

Personality

The thing that attracted Hrok to Gre'ame was his knowledge and, though he probably won't admit it, Gre'ame's ideals. However, Hrokrothoth is less generous then his rider, and much more severe.

The first thing you see when you look at this dragon is severity and pride. It's partially a product of his heavy features, but it's true enough in his own self- though perhaps to a slightly less extent then he gives off. Hrok is strong and fierce, and will rise to the occasion if he needs to.

Like his rider, Hrok is brave. He will throw himself just as willingly into situations as Gre'ame will, though he might need more convincing from an ideological standpoint. He does not back down from fear— or rarely at all. He's very "Game", showing pain very rarely, and stoic enough to last through hard times.

Hrok is a reserved dragon. He is not particularly social and he is incredibly wary and untrusting. Gre'ame may trust people as generally good at their heart of hearts, but not Hrok. You must prove yourself to Hrok, to earn his respect, and his trust is equally hardwon. He's a sullen beast, and he frequently comes off as cold for this reason.

He is not particularly social, though he will suffer the presence of other dragons and humans if he must. Conversation with him is possible, but it will always have a forced quality that he does not hold back, as if he would rather not be talking at all. Or dealing with people at all. Frequently he comes off as slightly callous.

When he does trust, however, he is incredibly loyal. Surprisingly, he even enjoys the company of those he trusts. He doesn't become that much more talkative, and all of his words are chosen with care and are deliberate— much as his actions are— but he'll nevertheless slide more easily into conversation.

Hrok is a severe and serious creature, and is less likely to suffer fools then even his rider. His comments to fools will be sharp. He will not mince his words at all, and his bluntness can often cause wounds to those who are unprepared for it. One could almost call him bitter- but not through any specific event. He was simply born jaded.

There is much behind his outward sullenness. He is an incredibly intelligent dragon, and he is, as his rider is, very wise. He is perceptive, in general and about people, despite his lack of interest in them. He is also surprisingly intuitive. Despite the fact that he is distant, he is very emotional aware- perhaps even empathetic. He has the potential to make a good searchdragon.

Underneath his bitter, jaded cynicism, as much as he tries to hide it, there is a hint of idealism similar to his rider's. It's more that he hoxpes life can improve for the downtrodden, rather then he believes it to be true, but nevertheless it's there.

Hrok is a very opinionated dragon. He is strong minded, and he knows what he believes and why he believes it. With such a philosophical rider as Gre'ame, he would be hard pressed not to. He and Gre'ame have long talks on the subject of philosophies, which may surprise those who think him so untalkative. Hrok tends to pull through things, though in his natural state he is somewhat likely to be discouraged— Gre'ame's presence and support gives him the support to push past that initial hesitation and self-doubt though.

As much as he frequently disagrees with his rider, he is as much a protector of the small as Gre'ame is. He is not, however, a good teacher. Hrok will tolerate those learning, and share such knowledge that he considers harmless, but he is not a patient dragon, and would rather not teach where he can avoid it. Gre'ame may coerce him into it, but he'll do anything involving teaching grudgingly.

Like Gre'ame, Hrok values honesty. He is an incredibly honorable dragon, and takes the ideal of honor seriously. Don't go back on your word to this dragon, or he will go out of his way to make your life miserable. He can be petty, sometimes— but he keeps to himself, unless provoked.
