Flame-gold Votkath
He (as it would turn out to be) was roughly the size a gold hatchling would be but that was where the similarities ended. This dragonet was built for speed. Large, terribly large wings even for the lanky frame of the dragonet. Everything on the dragon seemed a bit long - a long neck, a long tail, long, wide wings. Yet thin - streamlined down into something long and thin with powerful wings, if he had been a proper color there would have been many gasps of pleasure instead of ones of shock.
…As the Impression settled, his hide suddenly stopped changing colors, flashing into a deep red-orange except for the bottoms of his wings which were a almost silvery gold and on each of his feet to halfway to the elbow joint was a dark bronze-gold fading into medium yellow gold.
((Colors shift continually except when unconscious; Gold and any mix of firecolors together, usually with high percentages of deep orange-red))

Gold and Fiery marked egg
Another, on the other side, its soft leathery hide slowly hardening in the sun over days, was a flashy egg. Swirls of gold had actually made Ravira excited for a moment to think that perhaps there were two golds, an unheard of phenomenon. But no, this one simply managed to have gold markings among its fiery colored shell. Oranges and red splashed across the shell, with marks of gold swirling among them. It was around the size of the Gold egg and Phalieth bet on a large Bronze while Ravira was hoping for a small Cobalt.

Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on the point of view) for the newly named A'zar, the Impression moment was marred by the egg the colors of fire and gold hatching as the dragonet inside finally wriggled out with stubborn determination. And then there were gasps of surprise for - this dragonets colors were shifting! And at the moment of birth they looked almost entirely gold. Could there be two gold dragonets?
But no, a moment later its skin changed - a gold stripe went diagonally across the muzzle but otherwise suddenly the hatchling was suddenly shades of orange-red with flickered of yellow. Yet it didn't fade into the gold or anything like that - not, the colors were distinctly separate despite belonging to the same hide - and an instant later that same hide changed colors to be half gold on the left, and half… well, fire on the right. Fortunately, even the "fire" side was metallic, not confusing anyway.

Stretching, the new hatchling seemed to ignore the attention on him for a moment - half because he didn't notice it at all. His colors were still shifting on his hide, an ever changing pattern of fire colors and gold but he didn't seem to notice his own beauty either. He measured the distance in front of him with his eyes, singularly focused as other hatchlings came out around him. When he finally decided that he knew exactly how to get where he was going in the best way possible - the last egg of his group rolled out in front of him and the hatchling inside rolled out just as much.
The gold dragonet was as unlike her mother as could be. She was a pale gold with a dust of almost rose gold down the back of her neck and a hint of brass gold on her flanks and in the shadows of her build. She was on the larger size for a gold hatchling and was slim. The two dragonets blinked at each other - and then the male of the two heard the equivalent of a mental giggle before his shoulder was very gently nipped - and the gold clumsily scampered away a few feet before looking back at him, all mischief and light.
For a moment, he was torn. He'd had a plan - but all good plans could be revamped. He bolted after her and for only a minute (they were, after all, young and in need of food) they romped around the sands like the babies they were until he caught her and they tumbled down together, he ending in an undignified sprawl with happy blue flickering in his red eyes as he unexpectedly met the gaze of… Well. Gaze! Hello! My plan to get to you had to go through some necessary alterations but I made it here anyway. As the Impression settled, his hide suddenly stopped changing colors, flashing into a deep red-orange except for the bottoms of his wings which were a almost silvery gold and on each of his feet to halfway to the elbow joint was a dark bronze-gold fading into medium yellow gold.
While he would be able to change his hide at will, while sleeping or otherwise unable to change it himself, his coloring would now revert to those colors. He, completely unaware - or uncaring - of the spectacle he was making nudged Gaze and himself began to plod the way he suspected there was food. Come, Gaze, your Votkath hungers.

Abilities
A peculiar large male, in length he is exactly the length possibilities of a gold - but that, and part of his hide color, is where the similarities end. A Flame-Gold has no average build - one could be short, stocky, and heavily muscled and the neck slim, tall, and ethereal. Like their hides, nothing about them is ever quite the same. Speaking of their hide - they have two distinct color groupings. One of these groupings is any shade of gold. The other… will be a mix of "fire" colors. Red-orange being most common but it is not uncommon to see yellow or white on there either. At birth, their hides will be in a constant flux between different markings of their two groupings but upon Impression they will settle into a base colors - they could be mostly gold, mostly flame colored, or a mixture. Either way, they can still will their hide colors to change to suit themselves. In personality, like in build, they vary - despite their size, there is no guarantee that these dragons will come out leaders, or even most of the time. They may be as likely to be a follower as any small color. In ability, they have poison in their claws and teeth - deadly if they wish it but they can control the amount to be less so.
Flame-Golds can only happen in clutches fathered by bronze or rarely brown and no more than one per clutch, this being due to the genetics partially confusing them as golds.

Flame-Gold Votkath
Color Code: #B03603
Adult Size: 41 feet
Impressed to Gaze
Personality: Strategic, Happy, Steadfast, Assertive, Honest, Oblivious, Reliable
Flame-Golds can only be born of clutches fathered by bronzes or rarely a brown (size issue) and only ever one per clutch. Obviously mutated from golds, they still aren't quite as rare, usually ending up with one every bronze fathered clutch, with some exceptions. Their ability that I couldn't work in is poison, besides the fact they can shift the colors of their hide to be different shades of gold or red-orange-yellow.
