dragondesignftw

I'm willing to trade stuff for dragon write ups, or parts of write-ups.

I will trade like.. an image or something for just a personality witeup, or an image for an image, or a complete write-up with rider for stuff. Aspects of this can be picked and chosen.

What I want

Dragon designs/write ups! I'll use them for instas at weyrs.

  • Rider's Inclusion: depending on the circumstance: I may have a character who I want to use as an Insta partially "concepted" out— I'd give you this information and a word-list about the personality. I may not need Rider's information— just a dragon. Rider's info can be included vaguely, as if an npc, or rider's info can be provided in full, as if another character (and paid for as such.)
  • Appearance: I'd like some information on the dragon's individual build to be included, please. In terms of coloration, I'd like something attractive. I tend to like markings and different tones and hues, I tend to like dragons who push the dragon spectrum, I allow for/don't entirely care if some markings are a different color (gold flecks on a blue, for instance). I tend to like several markings on a dragon.
  • Personality: Detail! detail detail detail. I need between 10-20+ Adjectives in order to get into the characters' head, and a dragon to me is a separate character.
  • Mindvoice: I know, this makes a lot of people roll their eyes. :. It's optional. I like it when people pick things that are like the dragon in concept, and then I can use those as metaphors for the dragon's speech, but it's not required. This is one of those things I like from the mushes.
  • Egg/Sire/Dam/Other: Totally not required at all. It's a nice touch, but yeah.
  • Coloration: Cross impression is fine! Non-canon colors are also fine! I'm down with anything. :3 Do note- I may change the color as the need arises (If i join a site which does not allow female brownriders, for instance, I may change a female rider's brown to a blue or a green, but otherwise keep them the same.)
  • Theme: Honestly, I like themes— but please do not translate the theme literally into a dragon. Keep it in mind when designing a dragon, build off of it, and apply it abstractly.
  • Credits: You will always get credit.
  • Ideals: Honestly, the things that bring me joy for this kind of thing, and my ideals, are the level of detail you find on the mu's. Some i've gotten first hand: the favorite dragon I've EVER impressed, close second for my favorite, My beautimus bronze, Andiacuth, Xulith. To show off, here are the websites for some Mu's. Absolutely do NOT use these descs or write-ups as your own. They take a lot of work and effort to write— I'm including them linked here because they're cool and to show examples of the level of detail that is my ideal. Also note that an ideal is just that— just an ideal. I do not expect it to be reached. Fort@PW, Ista@HT, Igen@PW, which has since closed. Two NPC's from Fort@PW, with an impressive level of detail just to them.

My preferences for impressions are detailed out here: universal prefs and in general, they apply.

Point System for Trade

I'm basically going to assign each aspect of a write-up a certain number of points, which will stack. (Appearance wordlist +3, personality wordlist +3 = 6 points).
I will also assign everything I'm willing to trade a point value. (art- write ups will be the same scale as the above.)
From there, we try to make what I owe you for the write-up even. So— I write you a dragon of similar quality, for instance. or, i trade equivalent value of art.

Point chart for writeup

These stack. Examples at the bottom.
What's desirable— see above. In a nutshell: appearance, personality, preferably with an image. getting a rider is nice. I like paragraphs, but I really am fine with word-lists— what I need is basically a base, and if you're willing to write them out for me I'll compensate that and be happy and honored. Everything else is completely optional and up to whoever's writing.

Aspect Value Comments
General base +2 Basically agreeing to do it- name/etc.
NPC Rider info included +2 NPC-level of info. just name or gender, or a generated blurb, or very basic info to that level
Full rider included - Scored as if a separate character, on the same scales as the dragon; essentially, the points are for two characters instead of 1.
Written for a specific char + 3 If I give you the information for one of my characters and you write for them.
Appearance- Wordlist +2 Including a wordlist of adjectives that describe build and markings
Appearance- Paragraphs +4 Paragraphs describing build and markings.
Image of Appearance- Pixel +4 Pixel image is included.
Image of Appearance- Template +6 A larger template for free use is included for this— such as virenn's templates. Please do not draw specially the dragon, and only use a proprietary template with permission or if you use it frequently— I don't want to short you worth. D:
Personality- 10-20 wordlist +6 10-20+ adjectives for personality
Personality- 20+ wordlist +8 20+ adjectives for personality
Personality- 3-4 paragraphs +4 Please include 10+ adjectives in the desc.
Personality- 4-6 paragraphs +8 Please include 10+ adjectives in the desc.
Personality- 6+ Paragraphs +16 I'm impressed. Please include 10+ adjectives in the desc
Mindvoice +4 I know, this makes people roll their eyes. If you include a list of abstract concepts or things that can be evoked in the mind when this dragon speaks, that counts. COMPLETELY optional
Record Padding +2 Providing listed details like sire and damn, an egg name, etc. OPTIONAL
Egg Desc +2 Essentially more record padding. If you desc the egg they came from.
Theme/Inspiration +4 If you wrote the dragon with a theme in mind, or inspired by something. optional.
Hatching included +4 If you include a little blurb of them hatching and impressing, also totally optional.

Example:
A wordlist appearance, virren template image, and a 15 word personality desc: 2 (base) + 2 (wordlist appearance) + 6 (image) + 6 (Personality) = 16.

Point System for what I give you

When in doubt, we round up, and I overpay— so if you gave me a write-up worth 16, it rounds up to 20, and you can get a flatcolor template, or a sketch and a unique image, or 4 sketches.. etc.

Thing! Points! Comments
Art: Sketch 5 :D!
Art: Unique Image, flatcolor, moderate 15 A one-off image, flatcolored, of some subject. Moderately complicated— this includes most animal chars and pernese beasties, no background
Art: Unique image, flatcolor, complicated 25 A one-off image, flatcolored, of some subject. may have lots of subjects, may have a background.
Art: Template, flatcolor, small 20 This covers most pet creatures; a smaller template. I give you the .psd and an instruction sheet. Use to your liking, but please credit back to me.
Art: Template, flatcolor, full 30 Major impressionable creatures, like dragons. I give you the .psd, and an instruction sheet. Use to your liking, please credit me.
Fully shaded art of any kind 50+ It's high because it's rare. It takes me hours and I don't usually have the time to spare. IF you're interested, talk to me, we'll see what we can arrange— but don't count on this being available.
Write-ups - Scored on the scale for write ups above. basically, i write you something on the order of what you write me. Do note that I cannot do pixels.
Appearance designs - I've been asked to do these in the past— basically, it's whatever the worth in the above. For a virren template, it's about 6. I can't do pixels.

Want something else? Talk to me, we'll see what we can arrange.

Appearance

Guidelines for what sort of thing you want when you're asking me to design things— if possible, be specific.
Things I take into consideration: Hues, base shades, gradients, naturalish markings, abstract markings, chaotic markings, markings over small areas of the body, markings over most of body, markings over whole body, tints/shades of colors on one dragon, how many hues on one dragon, do they push the limits of their color (that blue looks very purple…), markings in different colors (Green with small blue markings, for instance), etc..

designspectrumlist

For my own preferences, I tend to prefer moderate+, leaning towards strong/heavy. However, simple can be beautiful, too— I Impressed a roanmarked-blue i think is lovely, once.

Personality

If I'm writing for you ,give me guidelines— is there anything you'd like to see? would you like them to be similar, or opposite, or non-opposite, or totally different from the rider you provided, IF you provided a rider? Would you prefer I not push things too far and give you dragons who, for instance, are very abstract, or collect shiny objects, or strange things like that? Conversely, is that right up your alley?
