The Rosecolored Rocks Boulder Orestes
Orestes' base is a pleasant dusty-rose brown. Smooth patches of a ligher, more peach-toned brown shade light the bottom of his face, his chest, and the ends of his wingsails— they are broken by the darker base tone, in jagged striations. Flecks of gray sit like dust along his back, while similar flecks of near-black brown darken his paws, the end of his tail, and the very tops of his wings. He's heavily muscular, with a compact build and wicked points to his face and his teeth. He's fairly average for his color, though his wings are a touch large, and he occasionally finds it hard to get comfortable, when he's laying down, due to their awkward movements.

Personality
Orestes relationship with Disian borders on obsessive.
Orestes is not a very friendly creature. He doesn't like most other living things, and the only reason he doesn't go after them with surprising shows of violence is that Disian would frown on it. He's incredibly sadistic, and frequently exercises this tendency on his food- it's the only sort of living things he can comfortably torture. He also enjoys spraying his acid on people's crops.
He adores Disian. He's not entirely sure why— certain aspects of hers drive him up a wall, but he adores her completely. Were he small enough, he'd follow her around like a suspicious puppy, snarling at anyone who got too close- and when he was small, he did just that. Now he's too big for that kind of thing, but he still considers Disian exclusively his. He distrusts any human she communicates with, especially if it's more then passing. He doesn't like her friends, and he despises anyone she takes as a lover- which happens quite frequently. He'd spray acid on them, if not for the fact that it makes Disian incredibly upset when he does that sort of thing. He really wishes they lived on their own, so he could have Disian to himself, and not worry about all these idiot little people messing with her or taking her attention away from him. The only consolation he takes is that none of the people she sleeps with hang around very long— usually only a day, if that. He helps shorten their stays with his snarling.
Disian isn't the only thing that he's possessive of— anything that attaches themselves to her (an animal, for instance) belongs to him too. He'll pick up and steal things he likes, which he will guard as vehemently as he'd like to guard Disian, and tends to hoarde objects wherever it is that they're staying. The good side of this is that he makes a good guard-creature for whatever territory he considers his, and is constantly wary and alert, looking for intruders.
Orestes has a dry sense of humor, and like Disian, he appreciates irony and sarcasm. He's fluent in sarcasm, and frequently uses it to good effect- when he's not being short and non-communicative. He's got a sharp wit, though only Disian will be exposed to it on a regular basis, because he just doesn't like messing with people.
Responsibility only extends as far as what belongs to him and what must be done to maintain his possessions. Some breed of loyalty will not be invoked out of him by mentioning idealistic causes: no, he only does work for the things he keeps close. Patrolling someone else's territory holds no interest, but patrolling his own is a job he does with relish. Anything Disian needs done, he will attempt to do, but anyone else, even someone who technically has authority? He'd rather you step in dog .
