Wut is this?

This is a reference about how I design dragons, in terms of appearance and personality.
The first section, Game Questions, is for use specifically when I'm asking you questions regarding your game. Usually admins. It's to figure out what sort of color-designs I can use when I'm bringing in dragons/creating them. It's specific examples on what sort of designs i can make

The second section, Design Reference, is for when I'm creating a clutch or a dragonet for your game/for you. It's a general set of guidelines, so you can tell me what type of design you would like. For instance, if you would like heavily marked dragons, or if you'd rather i kept it light.

The third section is the same as the second, but in terms of personality write-ups, as opposed to physical designs.

Game Questions

Primary Examples

For use with the game questions, these are the main examples, so to speak.

Secondary examples

Supplementary examples. Basically, more examples similar to the above that illustrate how I push color or design limits sometimes.

Green that pushes yellow, example of 'porting

seraphithgrn.png
Modified design of a friend (modified above)
an example of porting- where I use a dragon I've gotten before, and modify it to fit the game. In this case, the original was a fighter gold, which is a color unique to the game she was created for- sterile gold as common as brown. The game I wanted to bring her had unlimited green instaslots, so I modified her to green.

Design-reference (For dragon/clutch design in my hands)

If I'm in the position to design a dragon for you, I'm going to ask how "heavily" marked I can make the dragon. These are examples of my gradations and what they mean. Color-pushing is included in these concepts.

The levels are: anything goes, Heavy/chaotic, Moderate-heavy, Moderate, Moderate-light, Light, Simple. bear in mind that none of these are set in stone, they're more of a spectrum.

Aspects of design include, but are not limited to: hues, base colors, colors that "push" concepts (blues that look purple-toned), Gradients, gradients within markings, gradient bases, contrast, large markings that cover much of the body, moderately-sized markings, small markings, repeated markings (like stripes), pushing realism markings (markings that look like geometric shapes or hooks or swirls; usually resemble, rarely exact), small markings in a color other then the base (small purple dots on a green), moderate markings in another color (yellowish stripes on a green), markings in colors that are analogous (greens with blueish or yellowish markings, golds with orange or small red), Markings in colors that are not the base without limits (small purple or red dots on a green), lots of small markings, lots of moderate markings, lots of large markings, lots of markings of any size, moderate amount of markings of any size, few markings. ' You can ask me to leave some of these out- i.e, you can let me get heavy/chaotic but ask me not to have markings in other colors that are not green.

Example images are generally an extreme example.

Note, some of the example images are not on my templates. See- Virenn@DA

Anything goes

xc9nnm.png

I have total artistic freedom. the goal is making something that looks good. I can get as chaotic as I want, I can push boundries. I may not stop when it gets overwhelming.

Heavy and/or chaotic

megaz.png
noteyandyego.png
sport1b.png
(as a blue ,because it pushes blue pretty hard)

May push colors, may have markings in colors other then base, may have lots of markings, complicated markings, colors. Won't let it push TOO hard, though, and won't let it get past overwhelming [for me, and I have a high tolerance].

Moderate-heavy

ilterith.png
witherwith.png
queenelizibeth.png

Activity over whole body, may have jagged markings, may have lots of markings, still has base visible, may push colors, may push hues and shades.

Moderate

secilbrown.png
sblue.png
joanofarcx.png

Lots going on, but large areas of "Calmness", may push colors, may have areas of chaos, may have lots of markings but usually has areas without lots of markings.

Moderate-light

green1bn.png
bladebronzeh.png

May have subtle chaos within large markings, tends to have few and/or large markings, lots of base visible.

Light

ariath.png
bluemirith.png

May have large or moderate markings [sometimes small], but not many of them, designs tend to be calm and simple. Probably won't push color very far.

Simple

No example. :C

Flat-colors or large gradients.

Personality Write-up Spectrum

In terms of length and detail. Note that I count detail by the amount of information I can pull from it. It is possible for a wordlist to be more detailed then paragraphs.

Detail is basically how many adjectives I can pull out of the write-up. Adjectives are important, because I approach playing characters through knowing them well from teh get go, and letting them develop further. I don't play things with few adjectives well; they blend together.

Each section is lists paragraphs and wordlists. On paragraphs vs wordlists— paragraphs and sentances let you know how certain traits come out. example: in a wordlist I can get posessive, in a paragraph'd desc I can get 'posessive over people and firelizards but not places'. It's just specific. One is not better then the other, however.
I have a mild preference for paragraphs for that reason, and for writing paragraphs for that reason. That said, the priority preference is to detail- so if I will get more detail from teh wordlist, I would like the wordlist, and similarly I would like to write the wordlist.

Holy-shit level

I don't request this, and I request that people not request this of me. However, I can do this, and I love- but never expect- to receive this. This is basically the gold standard.

Paragraphs: literally pages. as or more detailed then the mu's.
Wordllist: I have no idea. Maybe 50. Something insane like that.

Heavy

Paragraphs: 6+
Wordlist: 10-20+

For the examples- just the personality section, not everything else. Click 'personality' on the TOC or look for the personality heading.
Examples of my writing: Dekeigth, loscarth, Notegath
Examples not written by me: Seraphith, Zirath, Sephiroth, Taeganth (wordlist), humanitasth (wordlist)

Moderate

Paragraphs: 3-5
Wordlist: 7-10+

Light

Paragraphs: 1-3
Wordlist: 3-5
