The egg had been the first to start rocking and seemed to become more eager to hatch when it was picked and moved a short distance. The moment it was set back down the rocking began in earnest. Not only it rocking but it seemed to bouncing slightly as if the baby inside just couldn't wait to get out and greet the world.
