This dragon was prepared to be adopted- as such, she was heavily modified from her original personality and appearance, with a different rider. I kept some traits and her name. Her original rider came back, and thus this dragon was never played.
If she is ever played anywhere else, which is unlikely, her name will be Allilath, and she will NOT be connected to Aesta.
Ilterith's original bond was Alira, who belongs to BeautifulTragedy, who still plays her elsewhere and once again plays her on New Pern.
Gold Ilterith
Ilterith is small for her color: a fact that never ceases to bother the gold. She'll only grow to about 39' long, and her build will be slight. This will give her agility in her flights not usually afforded to such large dragons, but it's a negligible improvement, considering the relative smallness of greens and blues. Her hide's base is a creamy shade of gold, pale and warm. A deeper shade of rich sunny gold runs down the top of her face and down her neck nad back, ending at her rump, just before her tail. A darker shade of cream-yellow swirls around her front shoulders and shades the edges of her wings, covered by shifting patches of a slightly-orange deeper sunny yellow that dances along the front of her torso and climbs her wingsails.

Personality
Ilterith is like the setting sun reflected on the sides of a tsunami.
She has a lot of momentum, largely due to her force of personality. Strongminded, brave, and wilfull, there's not much success in telling her there are things she can't do. She is both stubborn and confident in herself and the situations around her. A tenacity guarantees that when she gets an idea stuck in her head, she will act on it, and pursue it to it's end- whatever that end is, and whether or not it's in her favor. It's almost like she literally can't stop herself- it eats away at her this and that, until she finishes it.
Her confidence can lead to arrogance— she has a very high opinion of herself, and while she does not share her rider's misanthropy, she starts a relationship higher then the other in her eyes, simply because she places herself very high and considers the other party neutral until they prove themselves otherwise. Her confidence in her knowledge of the situations around her can lead her to rest easy, and she may, occasionally, miss some of what's going on around her.
Opinions are not something this dragon keeps to herself, and her force of personality can be overbearing and domineering. She takes control of situations is no one else is doing it properly, and her presence in a room will give the impression of filling it. She can be charming, and when she is, this is not a bad trait for her to have. Those intimidated by her may find it overwhelming and stressful to be around her, and those who disagree may be likewise uncomfortable— especially if the opinions she's sharing are controversial or on subjects that cause discomfort.
Ilterith is a vain creature. She thinks she looks good, and she likes to be looking her best whenever possible. She hates being dirty, she hates it if she looks under the weather, she hates it if there is anything marring her hide. She'll bathe frequently, and want oiling immediately afterward, which will certainly keep Aesta busy.
It's not just her own appearance she's concerned with, either. Aesta is not a vain woman, but Ilterith will constantly be asking her to do something about this, to wear that. At gathers— or, indeed, whenever possible— Ilterith will be the first advocate of spending money on nice clothing. If she had her way, Aesta would wear gather finery every day, not just on special occasions. She frequently mothers Aesta— badgering her about appearances, to do things faster. She'll stick her nose into weyr's business— the things the humans should be primarily concerned with.
Her maternal instincts are not soley on her rider, however. Though once they're hatched off and impressed she has only a vague interest in her children, as a brooding clutchmother, she's very particular and fussy. She doesn't like candidates, and doesn't trust them— or anyone beside her riders, getting anywhere near her eggs. She sleeps little, and doesn't like leaving the sands to eat or do anything else. She'll growl at candidates during clutches, and though she would never snap at one, she's frequently asked to leave— and convinced to do so by aesta— so that the candidates can touch the eggs without being afraid or harassed. She fusses over her eggs, to, adjusting them frequently, admiring them, being proud. Her vague interest in her babies post hatching and Impression extends to basically pride— whenever one does something she can be proud of, she sits up and brags about how wonderful her children are- traits they clearly got from her and her excellent choice in breeding partners. She'll often urge Aesta to lay eggs of her own— a thought Aesta finds absolutely horrifying.
Ilterith is also concerned with authority and rank hierarchy, though interestingly, her opinions have little to do with color. Golds, of course, should be automatically obeyed, and the dragons they've chosen as their recent mates— the weyrleaders' dragons— those should be obeyed, too, clearly. But, for instance, if a brown was a wingleader of a bronze, Ilterith would be inclined to give the brown higher authority. She respects the dragons of her weyrs as individuals, with strengths and weaknesses. She'll want to see that dragons [and their riders, she supposes] in ranking positions are given the respect accorded to her rank— if she notices that failing to happen, she will feel the urge to get involved and correct the misbehavior. If someone is punished for some breed of insubordination, her only thought is 'serves them right'. Seniority is important to Ilterith's concept of authority, as is bloodkin— barring direct rank, she's more likely to respect and afford authority to dragons who are older, rather then color. Her siblings get the best end of this stick, from both ends. The concept of respecting your elders is important to her.
Of course, it's her own authority she's most concerned with people obeying. She is, after all, a gold. Naturally an ambitious creature, with a lot of self-confidence, she thinks she's an excellent leader, and thinks people should obey her. Talking back to her will get bad responses, and doing anything she doesn't like will be treated unhappily. She's not above biting a male trying to catch her, for instance, when she's flying, and she really doesn't like to be touched by anyone without permission— human or dragon alike. She'll snarl at humans who do so.
Ilterith's ambition might put her at odds with her sister, but despite that, her thoughts of her sister are surprisingly good. Blood-kin counts for a lot to Ilterith, and she does what she can to maintain a good relationship with the other queen. She IS mildly off-put by the fact that Silirth is the senior queen: sure, Silirth hatched first, but it was only by a matter of moments- they should be equal. But, Silirth did rise first, by half a year, and the fact that she's her sister makes her acceptable, even if Ilterith would rather have the job to herself and thinks she could do a bit of a better job. She'll occasionally be snippy or jealous to her sister, especially if height is brought up, but otherwise she'd much rather share joys with the other gold then strife.
Ilterith takes the business of running a weyr seriously, and for all her flaws, she can be counted on for the same [somewhat brutal] fairness of her rider, and for relatively level-headed interpretations and advice. (Relatively being the opportune word, because she is far from objective on a number of issues.)
